My New Book! “Behold This Heart”

Once in a while, life takes it out of you. We’ve all had those experiences where one day everything is fine, and the next day it is not. Some ‘problems’ are bigger than others, but we all know that LIFE is unpredictable. That’s why I want you to know about my new book, “Behold This Heart in the Season of Advent“.

My book is available TODAY and all you have to do is go to Amazon.com and type in the title to my book. You can pick up the ebook now or wait until the end of September for the print edition. And for all you Kindle Unlimited people, it’s FREE!

The subtitle tells you that this is “A Cancer Journey With Jesus and Mary“. And that it was. You see, last summer in 2018, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 muscle-invasive bladder cancer. Serious, the doctors told me, very serious. Very aggressive. It turned my life on its head.

I am a lifelong Catholic

I love my faith, as most of you love yours. Whatever that may be, it doesn’t matter to me, as long as you believe in God! Faith is SO important in this crazy world we live in — without it, one is surely lost, in so many ways.

There was much to do a year ago this month. The day after Labor Day I was at the hospital having a nephrostomy tube inserted into my right kidney. It drained urine into a bag so the fluid didn’t have to travel down into my bladder where the blockage was. That tube remained there until the day of my surgery, December 17th.

Then, later in the month, in September of 2018, I had a “port” put in. This is the device that is used to deliver the lovely chemo drugs into your body. I still have the bruise from where they took the port out in January, but it never bothered me.

Then at the end of September, chemotherapy started. For any of you who have been through it, you know how it is. For those of you who have never had chemo, pray very hard that you never have to experience it.

It is literally, hell on earth

No one can prepare you for what you will go through, as each struggle is different — each suffering is yours alone. But, there is the key word. Alone.

You DON’T go through it alone. Yes, I had my husband by my side through it all, my children, other family members always asking how I was doing, friends, too.

There were two other people with me all the way

I honestly do not know how people with no faith handle life’s most precarious situations. What do you do? Who do you turn to? How do you face the future?

For me, there has always been Jesus and Mary. It’s been my belief system all of my life — you could say it’s in my DNA. There is no one without the other.

If you’re wondering HOW that can be, or WHAT I went through, then buy my book. It’s filled with lots of good things, positive thoughts, which we need so desperately in the world we live in!

Just head on over to Amazon and pick up “Behold This Heart in the Season of Advent” right now. Advent is such a beautiful season and I have included ideas and ways to make it even more so.

You can find out more on my journey with bladder cancer here and here.

For those of you who are going through cancer treatments right now, I pray for you every day. Remember, this too shall pass. Where once I could do NOTHING on a daily basis, my days are filled to the brim with doing all I love to do once again.

It will get better, I promise

Hold on to your family, your pets, your home, the things you love most of all. And hold tight to Jesus and His mother. For me, there simply is no other way.

I am pleased to announce the publication my new book, “Behold This Heart in the Season of Advent.” Remember, Christmas is not that far away! And Advent comes first. If you would like a PRINT copy, stay tuned, as that will be available at the end of September, so make a note!
